Definition:
When considering commercialization of a research output, intellectual property (IP) issues may come into play (e.g., patents, trademarks, industrial designs, copyright). Many institutions provide support services for researchers considering business ventures; the resources below are general in nature for early career researchers unfamiliar with such concepts.
