Open access publishing: what is scholarly publishing, history of open access movement, importance
Definition:
Scholarly publishers provide different mechanisms for providing scholarly information to different publics. “Open Access” publications are those made freely available to any reader in the world without payment on the reader's side. The European Commission is supporting open access and requires that publications resulting from Horizon-funded efforts be published in this way.
